Q4 - Igloo's first charitable donation
Would Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle campaign been given the go ahead by Miranda Priestly?
Dear founders and friends,
There’s a lot in the works at HQ, and we’ve been a bit busier than usual! Most excitingly, we’re proud to announce our first charitable donation to a cause that’s very close to us. Igloo has decided to support the GB Deaf Olympic Team by providing physio equipment for all the athletes competing in Tennis, Golf, Athletics, Swimming and Shooting at the 2025 Tokyo Deaf Olympics. The physio team will be led by sisters Bethany and Emily Brookes and will begin mid-November.
Nick Brookes (Chairman) and CEO Chris Ratcliffe have done an incredible job raising awareness and funds for UK Deaf Sport, so we’re excited to play even a small contribution to the team's efforts from across the world.
On the e-comm front, we are excited to announce our partnership with creative strategy software Upspring AI—an essential tool for our strategists and media buyers (see our “Tools that Rule” section). Q4 preparations are underway, so let’s dive right in.

The Sydney Sweeney Effect?
All publicity is good publicity, right? Sydney Sweeney's most recent marketing stunt was for American Eagle a few months back, which sparked significant backlash for its tagline "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,". The controversy became a cultural debate about beauty standards and advertising, drawing comments from many political figures.
But despite the controversy, American Eagle's stock saw a significant increase, which the company attributed in part to the campaign's success in driving sales and customer acquisition. Are marketers feeling brave, and will we start to see brands make similar moves?
