Igloo Assistant is LIVE!
Summer Lovin'
Dear Founders & Friends,
It’s summertime LFG!! Just fyi, if you’re sitting on a boat, in the Med, with an Aperol Spritz in hand, feel free to not respond and unsubscribe until Sep 🙂
This is a special newsletter as we look to announce something completely NEW to our Igloo umbrella. We’ve learned a LOT in the past 2 years (just passed our anniversary). While having an agency can come with additional firepower (creative, strategy, softwares, larger teams, experience), some founders prefer having folks in-house to handle multiple channels, and support their existing creative team, or marketing infrastructure. SO….check out our news section for more info 😉
Latest News @ Igloo Media!
If the hint in the intro didn’t give it away, we’ve decided to launch an ENTIRELY NEW arm of the company. Here’s why:
Founders methodologies vary across industries, business sizes and sometimes even shareholder preferences. While the agency model (at the right cost), can be a great way to have a lot of firepower behind your channels, having in-house support, is preferred by some companies. So, If you have the man power internally to work hands on with a skilled media buyer, designer, or any team member for that matter, then we’re all for it! SO…we decided to launch IGLOO ASSISTANT.
What are some of the roles we’re offering:
Paid media directors (senior level primarily) - Starting at $2500 p.m
Email marketers - Starting at $2000 p.m
Website Development - Starting at $2000 p.m
Graphic designers - Starting at $2000 p.m
Creative strategists - Starting at $2500 p.m
Customer services reps - Starting at $2500 p.m
Bookkeepers (e-commerce experience) - Starting at $600 p.m
How you can you guarantee quality control of the reps we recruit?
At Igloo we’ve ONLY ever hired directors with 5+ years (junior), or 8+ years (senior) level experience at the ad level for paid media roles. We have a 4 stage interview process for all of the roles above, including initial and secondary interviews, case study analysis, account level testing/auditing and final testing. As you probably guessed, we don’t currently have dozens of reps available for each role, but we are recruiting well ahead for ex-agency and independent folks looking to go in house. So do get in touch, as we’re already building a roster of hungry members looking to work with even hungrier brands!

MUST READ!!
The absolute best part of our job, is meeting the most amazing folks in the Founder Universe. I met Jessica for lunch in London a few weeks ago, to learn more about her journey to Parasol. Jessica, as a first-generation immigrant from Taiwan, turned her attention from a career in finance to building a business dedicated to innovating diapers and products that prevent diaper rash in sensitive-skin babies. In search for the perfect diaper, Jessica visited 26 countries, over 50 manufacturers, and took Richer Carlos, a leading name in the diaper World with her for the ride (and of course for his expertise). After learning more about the sensitivity of materials, the importance of design, manufacturing challenges and the ultimate science behind child care, Jessica launched the company in 2016.
Parasol is now one of the most desired diaper products in the US.
The best part. Not $1 spent on paid media.
Everyone's journey to building a D2C brand is different. Jessica's a learner. Her product is the result. Amazing. Jessica also insists on getting on calls with her customers and learning about their experience, to better understand her audience, and apply their feedback for new designs, new material and each user journey. For any soon to be parents, or mom’s and dad’s with babies, check out Parasol. Jessica did show me a Parasol diaper vs a Honest diaper in person (they were clean fyi…). Sorry Jessica Alba, we love your movies, but the Parasol diapers are truly exceptional.
Tools that rule: Introducing Haus
A true incremental “lift testing” data platform (it’s less complicated that it sounds).
Introducing Haus. Haus is probably not for the smaller D2C brands out there with monthly fees ranging from $10k+, and tailored scopes for their larger clients. However, Haus is founded by ex data scientists from Google, and incredibly smart engineers, who’ve managed to build an engine that measures the incrementally of changes to your advertising engines. They call these “lift tests.”
By manually setting up “lift” tests in their platform, (this literally takes 5 minutes), you can measure the net impact on the businesses every-time you run a new test. They use a location based targeting system for their GeoTest engine. From what we’re hearing, Haus is really changing the game for D2C brands including SONOS, Newton, Caraway and more! Visit Haus, and book a call, even if it may not be for you, it’s a great 30 minutes to learn more.
Sometimes we don’t want to learn. Sometimes we just want to listen or read, or hear about how fast Jason Bateman can take a mountain bike downhill…
